The Iraqi Front led by Osama al-Nujaifi revealed, Saturday, the number of representatives who signed the dismissal of the Iraqi Parliament Speaker, Muhammad al-Halbousi from his post, while it indicated the most important political blocs supporting this movement.
A leader in the front said, “The parliamentary and political movement to remove Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi from his post managed to collect 140 parliamentary signatures, while the movement continues to increase the number of signatures.”
And the leader, who requested anonymity, stated that “the main political forces for this trend are (the Iraqi Front, State of Law, Al-Fateh Alliance, and the Victory Coalition),” noting that “the dialogues are continuing to include the Sairun Alliance and the Wisdom Movement, who confirmed their support for any parliamentary majority that wants This trend. ”
He added, “The Iraqi Front, next week, will submit an official request to head the House of Representatives to remove Al-Halbousi from his post, supported by the signatures of the deputies, which we expect will reach more than 180 signatures.”
Earlier today, Saturday, an informed source revealed that the leaders of the Iraqi front were moving towards the victory coalition led by Haider al-Abadi, to support the direction of ousting the current parliament speaker, Muhammad al-Halbousi.
It is noteworthy that 35 parliamentarians from Sunni blocs formed last October the Iraqi Front, which are: the Salvation and Development Front headed by Osama al-Nujaifi, the Iraqi Islamic Party headed by Rashid al-Azzawi, the Arab Project headed by businessman Khamis al-Khanjar, the masses bloc headed by Ahmed al-Jubouri, and the independent Iraqi bloc.
This front seeks to remove Al-Halbousi from his post, accusing him of failing in the main issues and problems facing the Sunni component.
Sunnis assume the presidency of the Iraqi parliament according to a political custom that has been in place since the overthrow of the former Iraqi regime in 2003, while the Kurds assume the presidency, and the Shiites assume the premiership.
