Ministry of Planning reveals the decisive date for announcing the results of the population census

The Ministry of Planning announced, today, Tuesday, the date of the final results of the population census.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, told {Euphrates News} that: “The final results of the population census will be issued at the end of February or the beginning of next March,” explaining that “the field data collected in the field during the census days is currently undergoing classification, coding and tabulation processes.”
Al-Hindawi pointed out that “these operations require additional time due to the large amount of data and its many details,” stressing that “the ministry is working carefully to ensure that the data is classified and tabulated in the best possible way before announcing the final results.”
On October 21, 2024, Iraq completed a comprehensive census of the population and housing across its entire territory for the first time since 1987.
On November 25, 2024, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced that the country’s population, according to the general population and housing census, had reached more than 45 million people.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Planning, the percentage of the population of “working age” between the ages of 15 and 64 reached 60.2%, while the percentage of children under the age of 15 reached 36.1%, while the “average family size in Iraq is 5.3 individuals.”
