Iraqi presidencies fail in their meeting with the political blocs

The Iraqi presidencies failed in their meeting with the heads of the political blocs to reach a final agreement on the upcoming elections and to prepare the atmosphere for holding it and the absence of Prime Minister Haider Abadi from the meeting.
Sunni leaders have called for postponement of the elections to ensure that the displaced are returned to their cities before the elections, while the National Alliance called for them to be held on time.
The meeting was chaired by Iraqi President Fuad Masum and attended by Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri and Medhat al-Mahmoud, President of the Federal Supreme Court and Iraqi Vice-Presidents Iyad Allawi, Osama Najafi, Nuri al-Maliki and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Aram Sheikh Mohammed and a number of party leaders and parliamentary blocs that did not agree on a final formula on the elections.
