Iraq and the United States sign an agreement to improve the level of transparency in the oil ministry

BAGHDAD / Baghdadiya News / .. Ministry of Oil signed with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Sunday, a memorandum of understanding to support frames of the United States in order to improve the effectiveness and transparency of its operations.
Said a statement quoted by the Information Office of the U.S. embassy and received / Baghdadiya News / copy of “the signing of the memorandum of understanding was at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad in the presence of Director of Development and training Iraqi Oil Ministry feet Mohammad Reza, Mission Director USAID international Thomas Stahl.”
He added that “the agreement provides for the support of the Ministry of Oil through administrative reform project named interdependence and funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and according to the principles of the Strategic Framework Agreement signed between the United States and Iraq.”
The statement said that “the draft thread will help the ministry on improving existing services provided and taking into account the application of the principle of transparency in order to meet the needs of the Iraqi people better, including improving the practices of procurement contracts and ways to implement the management system of the new development in Iraq, in addition to the introduction of the latest software used in the management of the ministry’s budget for capital investment. ”
He pointed out that “the draft interdependence builds on what already achieved by the development project initiated by the United States Agency for International Development during the year 2007 achievements and aims to help the ministry in the management of their resources.”
The statement quoted the Director of Development and Training Ministry of Oil optimism “this agreement and I think that cooperation goal of signing of this agreement will be very helpful for the ministry, has already achieved a project the United States Agency for International Development thread impressive effort in helping other ministries in the Iraqi government, and we look forward to achieve the same progress with our ministry. ”
The director of Mission of the U.S. Agency for International Development said that “the signing of this agreement is part of the United States’ commitment to help Iraq to manage its resources more efficiently for the benefit of its citizens.” Finished / 21
