Shafaq News/ US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he had reached a trade agreement with Britain, describing it as a “breakthrough.” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, “This is truly an amazing, historic day.”
Trump hailed the trade agreement with the United Kingdom, the first of its kind between the United States and another country since he launched his trade war weeks ago.
“I am pleased to announce that we have reached a trade agreement… with the United Kingdom,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, adding, “We are very close to other deals that we will announce soon. China would love to make a deal.”
Trump indicated that the final details of the trade agreement will be announced within a few weeks.
For his part, Starmer said that the trade agreement with the US is great and in the interest of both countries, will create jobs and boost trade between the two countries.
