Disclosure of the final completion date of the Al-Faw Grand Port project

The General Company for Iraqi Ports announced, on Monday, the date of receiving the first phase of the Al-Faw Grand Port project and the date of its final completion.
The director of the company, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said, in an interview followed by Al-Maalouma Agency, that “the receipt of the first phase of the Al-Faw Grand Port project will take place next year, and it will be an important link linking the Middle East and Europe.”
Al-Fartousi explained, “The five berths project in the port will end in September 2024, while the completion of all its projects will be in August 2025.”
He continued, “The five berths have an initial capacity of handling (3) million containers,” pointing to “the port’s operation ahead of schedule.”
Al-Fartousi added, “We will receive the first phase of the infrastructure in terms of the navigational canal, berths, and its reception by ships, and it will be preceded by the preparation phase for the port.”
