A member of the Parliamentary Economic and Investment Committee, Nada Shaker Jawdat, said today, Monday, that Iraq is the only country in which the budget debate continues for four months and more, pointing out that the Kurds are the ones who caused this delay, while she explained that this delay is costing Iraq billions.
“Postponing the approval of the budget is costing Iraq billions and prevents the realization of any service project or the provision of requirements for fighting the pandemic and other necessities,” Jawdat said in a statement to “Tigris” .
“No country can discuss the details of the budget for a period of four months except Iraq, and after that it comes up with deep disagreements that may end in a political rupture or boycott between Baghdad and Erbil,” she added .
