The State of Law coalition’s representative, Duha Al-Qusayr, accused, on Thursday, the caretaker government headed by Mustafa Al-Kazemi of failing to contain the economic crisis, stressing his adherence to the demand to restore the dollar exchange rate.
Al-Qusair said in a statement to “Al-Maalouma” that “the central and southern regions suffer from high prices and the unity of popular discontent due to the decline in purchasing power and the suspension of economic projects as a result of the continued rise in the dollar exchange rate.” .
And she added, “There is a parliamentary and political movement to demand the next government to reduce the exchange rate of the dollar and return it to its previous price,” noting that “millions of poor and low-income people in Iraq, specifically central and southern Iraq, are suffering from a severe economic crisis.”
