Member of the House of Representatives Hadi Al-Salami confirmed on Saturday that the amendment of the general budget will not proceed without responding to the demands of the representatives of the central and southern governorates.
Al-Salami said in an interview with / Al-Maalouma /, that “the representatives of the central and southern governorates formed a unified front that agreed on specific and legitimate points to achieve the interests of their governorates in the amendments to the general budget.”
He added that “the front of the representatives of the central and southern governorates has set clear contexts for dealing with the amendments in a way that achieves justice and fairness and takes into account the financial rights of those governorates,” stressing that “it is not reasonable for the state to spend billions of dollars in one direction while other governorates suffer from a severe budget shortage, which hinders the implementation of basic service projects.”
Al-Salami pointed out that “the budget amendments will not proceed without adopting the principle of justice and fairness among all governorates,” stressing that “their position rejecting the current amendments comes within legitimate and legal principles.”
It is noteworthy that the representatives of the central and southern governorates formed a front within the House of Representatives to guarantee the financial rights of their governorates within the amendments to the general budget currently presented in Parliament.
