The head of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Hadi Al-Amiri, announced, on Sunday, that the appeal submitted by the coalition to the Federal Court last Thursday contained sufficient evidence to annul the election results.
A statement by the Al-Amiri media office stated that “the head of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Hadi Al-Amiri, visited yesterday evening, Saturday evening, the head of the victory coalition, Haider Al-Abadi, and the head of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, separately in the capital, Baghdad, to discuss political developments and the file of falsifying the election results.”
The statement added, “During these meetings, Al-Amri, Al-Abadi and Allawi stressed the need to follow up on appeals in the parliamentary elections through legal and judicial means.”
The statement quoted Al-Amiri as saying, “The appeal submitted by the Al-Fateh Alliance to the Federal Court last Thursday contained sufficient evidence to annul the election results.”
