Abdul-Mahdi sends a message to Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi after announcing his assignment as prime ministerBaghdad today – Baghdad

The resigned Prime Minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, sent on Saturday (February 1, 2020) a congratulatory message to Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, after announcing his assignment as prime minister.

In his message, Abdul-Mahdi said: “I bless myself first and your honorable person again, for what has been a political agreement to assign you to the task of the Prime Minister.”

He added: “It is a great honor for someone to stand up to the service of his country at such a complex time and with many challenges, and that I am very confident in your ability, patriotism, and sincere intentions from the time of fighting the grave regime.”

And he added, “However, I am afraid that what happened to me will repeat with you that my government will be a victim of the severe political division as well as the dishonorable struggle over the positions and positions.”

He continued: “I sincerely invite you to success, and put our experience and forces that aborted the success that we have made, so the people of the same people.”

And Abdul-Mahdi called on Allawi “to present the new government as soon as possible for the parliament to pass ratification and to hand you over the trust officially.”

Earlier in the day, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi announced that he was formally assigned to head the new government.

Allawi said, through a video, posted on his Facebook wall, that the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, had assigned him a little while ago to form a new government.

He called for “continuing demonstrations until the demands are met, the killers are held accountable, and early elections are held.”

Later, the Presidency said that the assignment of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi to head the new government will be announced in an official statement
