US officials admit for the first time: A number of soldiers were injured inside the Ain al-Assad base

US officials reported early Tuesday morning that the attack on Ain al-Asad air base in Iraq resulted in the injury of a number of US soldiers inside the base.
Three US officials told Reuters: “A number of US soldiers were injured in the attack on the military base in Iraq on Monday.”
According to the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the information about the soldiers’ injuries is preliminary and could change.
Earlier on Monday, security sources reported that two Katyusha rockets fell on the Ain al-Asad air base in western Iraq, which houses American and international forces.
Media sources indicated that the security forces seized a Kia truck carrying a locally-made missile launch pad to target the Ain al-Assad base in the industrial district adjacent to the city of Haditha, and that a number of missiles installed on the launch pad failed to launch without any suspects being arrested in the attack so far.
In the same context, military analysts said that the US military acknowledged this time the effects of the strike on Ain al-Assad and made it an exceptional event, unlike the previous and destructive Iraqi strikes, in an attempt to mitigate the expected Iranian attack.
Stressing that these miserable attempts will not change the goal and will not reduce the number of missiles.
