Legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi confirmed, on Thursday, that Iraq has the full right to sue America and Kuwait and place them under Chapter VII for threatening its security and stability and violating its sovereignty.
Al-Tamimi told /Al-Maalouma/, “Iraq can file a complaint with the United Nations and the Security Council against Kuwait if it was a partner in the recent aggression on the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces.”
He added that “Iraq has an agreement with the United States, noting that Article 27 of this agreement obliges Washington to provide protection for Iraqi lands, and what happened recently in terms of targeting inside Iraq is a violation of the agreement signed between Baghdad and Washington.”
He expressed Iraq’s need for “major diplomatic action in this direction.”
