MP: Washington’s claims about protecting Iraq are false

MP Mohammed Al-Ziyadi confirmed today, Sunday, that the American side’s claims regarding protecting Iraq are false and far from reality.
Al-Ziyadi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “The American side claims that it wants to protect Iraq, but this is not true and is very far from reality. All the recent security challenges were taken care of by the security forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces,” indicating that “the continued presence of these forces is rejected in its entirety.”
He added that “the points of negotiation between the Iraqi and American sides have not been made known to the public yet,” noting that “the government must prove all legal and administrative procedures to schedule the withdrawal of these forces from inside the country.”
He explained that “there must be keenness on the Iraqi side to end the foreign presence in Iraq and that the political forces must have a unified national decision to end the American presence in particular,” noting that “we have not seen seriousness from some political forces in the file of ending the foreign presence.”
It is noteworthy that the current government has formed joint committees to work on expelling the Americans after the numerous violations committed by those forces on the country’s territory.
