Representative Haider Al-Salami confirmed, on Saturday, the continuation of political differences over the articles of the 2023 budget.
Al-Salami told Al-Maalouma that “the delay in approving the budget is due to the postponement of a number of articles due to differences and the absence of political consensus.”
He added, “The leaders of the political blocs deliberated for more than ten days, but they could not solve the budget problems, unfortunately, until now.”
He explained that “the draft budget is currently suffering from confusion, delay and postponement of some articles, and therefore we believe that it is going incorrectly.”
And a representative source suggested, earlier today, Saturday, that the House of Representatives would not be able to pass the draft general budget law during today’s session.
