Legal Expert For Earth News - The Success Of The Initiatives To End The Political Blockage Depends On The Announcement Of The Largest BlocEarth News/ Legal expert Faisal Rikan confirmed today, Tuesday, that the success of initiatives to end the political blockage in the country depends on the announcement of the largest bloc within the parliament.

In an interview with Earth News, Rikan said, “The political situation in Iraq suffers from stagnation and uncertainty in reaching solutions that lead to a return to normal political life and the achievement of the expected constitutional and legal benefits, despite the proposal of many solutions and initiatives that some believe may lead to resolving the situation.” current.”

Rikan added that “the political forces, although they did not reject these solutions, did not accept them, and perhaps the most important of these solutions is to assign independent representatives to nominate a candidate to form the government, and some added a proposal to him that the independents take over the formation of the government.”

He pointed out that “in the event that all parties accept this proposal, it is subject to it being through the largest bloc in number in accordance with the provisions of Article 76 of the Constitution, which stipulates that the President of the Republic assigns the most numerous bloc to present its candidate to head the government, and therefore the acceptance of the independent candidate must pass through through the largest bloc and with its acceptance.”

Rican continued, “Although this bloc has not been clearly defined so far, the solution must also pass through the blocs’ agreement to attend the parliament session designated to elect the president of the republic and achieve a quorum of two-thirds in order for the session to be held and thus the president of the republic is elected to pass other constitutional benefits after that. Despite the expiry of its constitutional terms, and this requires going to the Federal Court to find a way or a legal way out to complete it.”

The political process in Iraq is witnessing a blockage and stagnation that has caused delays in the completion of constitutional benefits, most notably the election of a president of the republic and the presentation of a candidate to form the new government, at a time when several initiatives were launched to end the political blockage.
