The deputy from Diyala province, Ahmed Mazhar al-Jubouri, warned the government on Thursday against continuing to target diplomatic missions, while stressing that the country’s conditions do not tolerate any new crisis.
Al-Jubouri said, in a statement, that “the status of any country is measured by the extent of its protection of its guests and their property from diplomats and their missions,” stressing that “the country’s conditions do not tolerate any new crisis and the continued attack on the sites and properties of diplomatic missions and the international coalition forces is strongly rejected and endangers the reputation of Iraq.”
He called on the government to “strengthen its security measures and strike with an iron hand on every party that harms the reputation of Iraq and its foreign relations.”
He called on the Prime Minister to “provide adequate guarantees to the country’s guests not to repeat these acts contrary to international norms and laws, and before them are contrary to the morals of Iraqis and their honor to his guests.”
