Qatar announces the failure of America and Iran to reach a comprehensive agreementShafaq News – Doha
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, announced on Friday evening that the United States and Iran had failed to reach a “complete agreement”.

He stressed in statements carried by Gulf media outlets and monitored by Shafaq News Agency that both sides should accept a good agreement instead of striving for a “perfect” agreement.

There is a state of anticipation regarding the possibility of a resumption of military confrontation between the United States and Iran, in light of US President Donald Trump’s confirmation that he will decide “soon” whether to proceed with launching new strikes.

This announcement comes as the US Central Command completes its preparations for the return of combat operations, and as Qatar continues its diplomatic efforts to reach understandings between Washington and Tehran.

Trump is considering options ranging from launching new military strikes and continuing economic pressure on Iran to reaching an agreement that includes concessions.

On the diplomatic track, Qatari mediators are working to push through a draft confidence-building agreement that includes reciprocal steps, including lifting the US naval blockade and releasing part of the frozen Iranian funds.

In return, Tehran invited inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency to the bombed nuclear sites and reopened the Strait of Hormuz in preparation for resuming negotiations on the nuclear program and the stockpile of highly enriched uranium.

On the other hand, Iran is holding firm to seven conditions that it says it has set before Washington, and refuses to open the strait or enter into negotiations before they are met.

These developments also coincide with Israeli pressure to resume strikes, and differing American positions on the feasibility of escalation and its repercussions, especially on energy markets.
