Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed on Monday that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei had granted the government some powers to move towards “solving problems through dialogue.”
Pezeshkian explained in press statements that “war will not be in anyone’s interest, and the enemies will not be able to force us to surrender through it.”
The Iranian president continued: “We will stand firmly against the enemy’s lies and excessive demands,” explaining, “We seek to resolve problems through dialogue.”
Last Saturday, Iran’s Supreme Leader directed the armed forces to confront any level of threat without geographical restrictions, stressing that combat readiness is one of the requirements for achieving deterrence.
With the US midterm elections scheduled for Tuesday approaching, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressuring President Donald Trump to resume the war on Iran after these elections, according to US media reports.
