MP Mohammed al-Bayati confirmed on Monday that there is no specific date for the 2027 budget to reach Parliament, but indicated that all signs point to it being finalized by the government in the second half of November.
Al-Bayati explained to the Information Agency that “the 2027 budget is still within the Cabinet, and there are central committees working to finalize its articles before presenting it to the Cabinet, which is responsible for voting on it before it is sent to the Parliamentary Finance Committee for review and discussion of its articles according to constitutional mechanisms.”
He noted that “there is no set timeframe for its submission, but all indications suggest that the Cabinet may decide on the vote in the second half of November before sending it.”
Al-Bayati stated that “the budget will undoubtedly be challenging, especially since many segments of society are waiting for their rights to be addressed,” pointing out that “the financial crisis, the nature of the current situation, and the tensions will all influence the drafting of the budget law.”
He affirmed that “the extension of the legislative session was intended to allow for a thorough review of the budget details and provisions, with the aim of finalizing them within the next month.”
