Zebari: We made big progres toward getting out of Chapter VII mandate
Baghdad (NINA) – Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari announced that Iraq has made big progress toward getting out of the mandate of Chapter VII.
In a press conference held at the end of the meeting of Joint Iraqi-Kuwaiti Committee, Zebari said that the progress is made through the Kuwaiti side’s understanding and cooperation and signing the minutes of joint cooperation that organizes the High Ministerial Committee’s works aiming close all outstanding issues between Iraq and Kuwait.
He added that among the issues discussed was the Mobarak Port, where the Kuwaiti side affirmed that it will not affect Iraq’s interests and navigation.
Zebari pointed out that a number of protocols on cooperation in various fields will be signed during the visit of Kuwait’s Prime Minister to Baghdad by the end of this year.
