Shafaq News/ A leader in the Al-Fateh Alliance led by Hadi Al-Amiri revealed, on Tuesday, the “possibility” of holding a high-level meeting between the leaders of the coordination framework with the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, during the next two days at the latter’s residence in Al-Hanana, Najaf Governorate, to deliberate on the formation of the largest parliamentary bloc. And while he indicated that the meeting may be held at a lower level in the presence of leaders from both parties, but it will be held in any case, he stressed the “no objection” of the Shiite framework so far to Sadr’s candidate for prime minister.
The leader of the Al-Fateh bloc, Fadel Al-Fatlawi, told Shafaq News that “a meeting will take place during the next two days between leaders of the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement, and we may witness a meeting that brings together the leaders of the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement’s claim, Muqtada al-Sadr, at the latter’s residence in Al-Hanana in Najaf governorate.”
Al-Fatlawi added that “the upcoming meeting will discuss the issue of forming the largest bloc that brings together the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement, and their entry as the most numerous bloc in the House of Representatives.”
Al-Fatlawi indicated that “Al-Sadr has a vision by presenting Jaafar Al-Sadr as a candidate for prime minister, and there is no objection to Al-Sadr’s nomination and the candidates for the position of Prime Minister will be discussed in the upcoming meetings.”
The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, with his list of the Sadrist bloc, topped the results of the legislative elections with more than 70 seats.
An informed political source had disclosed, on March 12, that the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, rejected a proposal from the coordinating framework for merging with them and forming the largest bloc in the Iraqi parliament that is tasked with the new federal government.
And two identical political sources revealed, earlier today, that the meeting of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, with the delegation of the coordination framework, which includes Shiite forces, led to an agreement on naming Riber Ahmed, the Kurdistan Democratic Party candidate, as president of the Republic of Iraq, in addition to defining a consensual mechanism through which the selection of A new head of the next federal government.
