Iraq’s oil exports to the United States saw a significant increase last week, pushing it to fourth place among the largest oil exporters to the American market.
According to data from the US Energy Information Administration, which was reviewed by Shafaq News Agency, the average US imports of crude oil from seven major countries amounted to about 5.236 million barrels per day, a decrease of 1.386 million barrels per day compared to the previous week, which recorded 6.622 million barrels per day.
The data showed that Iraq’s oil exports to the United States averaged 195,000 barrels per day, an increase of 147,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week, when the average was 48,000 barrels per day.
According to the administration, Canada topped the list of the largest oil suppliers to America with 3.974 million barrels per day, followed by Venezuela with an average of 310,000 barrels per day, then Mexico with an average of 292,000 barrels per day, while Saudi Arabia came in with an average of 174,000 barrels per day.
According to the statistics, the United States imported about 191,000 barrels per day of crude oil from Colombia and 100,000 barrels per day from Ecuador, while no imports were recorded from Libya, Brazil or Nigeria during the same period.
The United States imports most of its crude oil and petroleum product needs from a number of major countries, at a time when its daily consumption is estimated at about 20 million barrels, making it the world’s largest consumer of oil.
