Information/Baghdad…
A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Mahma Khalil, announced today, Thursday, his party’s intention to attend the parliamentary session dedicated to voting on the government of Prime Minister-designate Ali al-Zaidi.
Khalil told Al-Maalouma, “The KDP will participate in the session to grant confidence to al-Zaidi’s cabinet,” explaining that “participation is aimed at finalizing the formation of the new government.”
He added that “the party is waiting for the presentation of the ministerial program and the vote on the proposed cabinet,” noting that “attending the session is the party’s current stance toward the government of the designated prime minister.” It is worth mentioning that the KDP had previously suspended its participation in parliamentary sessions in protest against the mechanism for electing the president of the republic, before deciding to return to participate in the confidence vote session.
