On Monday, Firas Al-Muslawi, spokesman for the Reconstruction and Development Bloc, revealed the main points of the coordination framework in its periodic meeting to be held in the evening.
Al-Muslawi told Shafaq News Agency that “the meeting will focus on candidates for the vacant ministries to complete the government cabinet, especially since it is a prior agreement between the framework forces, and the framework has become close to the stage of deciding on its ministerial candidates, provided that the other blocs submit a list of their candidates to Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi.”
He added that “the other blocs must submit acceptable and non-controversial names to fill ministerial positions,” indicating that “the meeting will also witness the presentation by the tripartite committee concerned with managing and regulating weapons of its report on the results of its work and dialogue with the armed factions, and the latter’s position on the government’s movement to regulate and restrict weapons to the state.”
He added that “the financial challenges facing the country will be present during the meeting, along with the security challenges facing the region.”
Regarding the share of the Reconstruction and Development bloc in the government cabinet, Al-Musallami confirmed, “We still have a ministerial portfolio or the position of Vice President of the Republic, as the forces of the Coordination Framework agreed to activate the positions of the Vice Presidents of the Republic and the Government with two deputies for each of the two positions, and to choose candidates who have experience and competence in managing the task assigned to them.”
