US Ambassador - The US presence will be part of the international coalition to provide support to IraqThe US ambassador to Baghdad, Matthew Tueller, confirmed that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and President Joe Biden signed an agreement that provides for the withdrawal of US combat forces from Iraq, so that the internal security forces will take over the combat missions.

Tueller said during his meeting with a group of journalists attended by “Dijla” that Iraq is strong, sovereign and successful, noting that they emphasized building a clear and sure strategy based on common interests.

He announced the allocation of an additional one hundred and fifty-five million dollars to help the displaced, and sixty million to the health sector to confront the pandemic.

He indicated that Iraq is obligated to fulfill its promises and hold accountable those responsible for the killing and kidnapping of activists and journalists.

Ambassador Matthew Tueller stressed that the United States reserves the right to self-defense, indicating that it will respond to the targeting of its forces in Iraq as necessary and in the event of an attack on them.

Tueller said during his meeting with journalists that the armed groups in Iraq are resisting the idea of ​​a sovereign state and a law that respects the components, pointing out that these groups claim to resist an American occupation even though it does not exist, indicating that their agenda has become known to the Iraqis.
