Shafaq News/ Two parliamentary blocs announced their boycott of the House of Representatives session, which was postponed by Deputy Speaker Mohsen al-Mandalawi until nine o’clock this evening, Saturday.
The head of the FAO Zakho bloc, Amer Abdel-Jabbar, said during a press conference held in the Parliament building with the participation of representatives of Imtidad and attended by a Shafaq News Agency correspondent, “The Imtidad bloc and the FAO Zakho bloc decided to boycott today’s session of the House of Representatives due to the failure to open the door for nominations to choose an alternative to the outgoing president, Muhammad al-Halbousi.” .
Abdul-Jabbar wondered, “Why was no session held regarding opening the door for nominations to choose the Speaker of the House of Representatives and only attention was paid to amending the High Elections Commission Law?”
In this context, the Parliament’s Media Department stated, “The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives postponed the extraordinary session until nine o’clock this evening, Saturday.”
