Transport expects to achieve a “leap” in oil exports after the completion of the “longest” berth in the history of Iraqi ports

The Ministry of Transport / the General Company for Iraqi Ports announced, on Saturday, that its technical and engineering cadres in the company were able to complete the last section of the longest oil berth, in the port of Khor Al Zubair, with a length of 340 m.
The company’s director, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said in a statement that the agency received a copy of it, that “the pouring of the last section of the longest oil berth in the history of the ports has been completed,” explaining that “the berth is being implemented according to the latest and highest international specifications to meet the speed of loading with A high safety and security system.”
He added, “The berth is being worked on by the Japanese Mitsubishi company and its subcontractor, the Turkish company JALK, and it is among the Japanese loan projects funded by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).”
For his part, Muhammad Al-Sahlani, director of the Japanese Loan Authority, said that “the project will make a leap in oil exports from the port of Khor Al-Zubair.”
In turn, Muntazer Abdul Razzaq Kateh, the project manager, said that “the surface of the quay has been completely completed, and what remains is to complete the erection of loading arms, firefighting equipment, vanities and other final works.” finished/25h
