The Security Media Cell announced on Thursday that the Air Force and Army Aviation Commands will conduct an “air show in the skies of glory and pride in Baghdad and the provinces,” starting at 10:00 AM on Friday.
In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, the cell called on citizens to “participate in this joy and celebration, and to follow the displays of the heroic air force falcons as they adorn the skies of the homeland with the most beautiful scenes of pride and honor.”
On Wednesday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, declared “Sovereignty Day” and the official end of the international coalition’s mission in the country, expressing his gratitude to the coalition countries for their support of the security forces during the fight against terrorism.
While US President Donald Trump announced the departure of the last American troops from Iraq, considering that it was time for Americans to return home, he praised Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, whom he described as “great,” noting that he had supported him from the beginning.
