The Kurdish delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, arrived on Wednesday to the House of Representatives to discuss the financing of the financial deficit law.
The Presidency of the House of Representatives, heads of parliamentary blocs and members of the Parliamentary Legal and Financial Committees are preparing to discuss the law of financing the fiscal deficit, and the financial dues for the Kurdistan region, with the Kurdish delegation.
A member of the Legal Committee in the House of Representatives, Almas Fadel, said that “the Presidency of the House of Representatives is awaiting the arrival of Qubad Talabani, the head of the negotiating delegation to Baghdad during the coming moments,” noting that “the meeting will deal with the financing of the financial deficit law that the House of Representatives voted on after the withdrawal of the Kurdish blocs.” .
Fadel added, “The high-ranking delegation headed by Qubad Talabani stressed during its meetings in Baghdad the commitment to the provisions of the law on financing the fiscal deficit, expressing her optimism that the two sides will reach an agreement.”
And on the mechanism of the agreement in the event that it is concluded between the federal and regional governments, MP Almas Fadel said, “An agreement will determine the region’s share of the fiscal budget for 2021,” noting that “the budget in turn depends on the fiscal deficit law, which came as an alternative to the 2020 budget.”
The delegation of the Kurdistan region, headed by Qubad Talabani, arrived last Wednesday, to the capital, Baghdad, and met with its officials to solve the pending problems, confirming the region’s commitment to the law of financing the fiscal deficit, in which the delivery of the Kurdistan region was 250 thousand barrels of oil per day and half of the customs revenues in exchange for sending the salaries of regional employees Kurdistan.
