On Thursday, Trade Minister Atheer Dawood Al-Ghurairi announced the launch of an integrated electronic platform belonging to the Companies Registration Department, considering this step a fundamental pillar for automating procedures and accelerating the completion of transactions for local and foreign companies, which enhances the business and investment environment in Iraq.
Al-Ghurairi said in a press conference held today in Baghdad that the electronic transformation has become an economic necessity to reform the government’s performance and improve services, indicating that the ministry has achieved “clear progress” in the digital transformation in its various aspects.
He pointed out that the platform aims to simplify the procedures for establishing and registering companies, and reduce bureaucracy by accelerating the completion of transactions that used to take weeks, stressing that the project also includes archiving more than 103,000 documents and 18 million electronic records, as well as enabling citizens and business owners to follow up on their transactions electronically in a direct manner.
