On Saturday, Uday Abdul-Hadi, a member of the Coordination Framework, confirmed that the Framework’s constituent forces would hold an important meeting that evening, during which the identity of the candidate for the next prime minister might be revealed.
Speaking to Al-Maalouma, Abdul-Hadi said, “According to information we have received, the Coordination Framework forces will hold an important meeting this evening to discuss several issues, including agreeing on the identity of the candidate for the next prime minister.” He noted that “the meeting may witness the announcement of the candidate’s name, and in any case, it will be decisive in this regard.”
He added that “finalizing the name of the prime minister candidate will lead to political understandings between the Framework forces and the other blocs and entities, which will contribute to accelerating the formation of the next government.”
Abdul-Hadi indicated that “the meeting will not be limited to the issue of the prime ministership alone, but will also discuss other issues related to security, the economy, and the financial crisis in the country,” emphasizing that “a statement will be issued after the meeting to clarify these matters.”
