The spokesman for the Victory Coalition, Aqeel al-Rudaini, confirmed on Saturday that the coordination framework meeting scheduled for next week may not yield tangible results, given the ongoing political disagreements regarding the completion of the cabinet.
Al-Rudaini told Al-Maalomah news agency, “Many contentious issues remain unresolved within the coordination framework, and there are complex and thorny matters that require further dialogue and understanding among the political forces.”
He added that “the upcoming meeting will focus primarily on addressing the disputes related to the remaining sovereign ministries, most notably the Ministries of Defense and Interior, as well as discussing mechanisms for settling the political entitlements of the blocs participating in the government.”
He pointed out that “some political blocs are still clinging to their ministerial entitlements and refuse to relinquish them, which is hindering reaching a final agreement on candidates for the vacant portfolios.”
He clarified that “talk of granting the Prime Minister absolute authority to choose ministers without consulting the political blocs is nothing more than media maneuvering, because the political forces are still insisting on their right to be represented according to their entitlements within the government formation.”
He stressed that “resolving the issue of the remaining ministries requires genuine political consensus among all parties to ensure the completion of the cabinet and end the current dispute.”
