Member of the State of Law Coalition, Alaa al-Yasiri, revealed on Sunday that the coalition has two options regarding participation in the new government, due to attempts to obstruct the nomination of its ministers.
Al-Yasiri told the Information Agency, “The State of Law has only two options at this stage. The first is government representation and proceeding with the nomination of ministers affiliated with the coalition to complete the cabinet.”
She added, “The second option is to move towards political opposition if some blocs continue to obstruct the nomination of State of Law ministers,” explaining that “these blocs are engaging in arm-twisting tactics, which negatively impacts the implementation of the government program of the new Prime Minister, Ali al-Zubaidi.”
Earlier, State of Law Coalition member Zuhair al-Jalabi accused the head of the Progress Party, Mohammed al-Halbousi, of leading an internationally supported scheme targeting the Shia component by inciting divisions and disputes within the Coordination Framework.
