Former MP Arif al-Hamami confirmed on Monday that the next phase will witness a review of the formation of the Coordination Framework, considering it the safety valve for the political process in the country.
Al-Hamami told Al-Maalouma that “the vote of confidence for Ali al-Zaidi’s government and its accompanying results have raised many questions,” noting that “there are a number of decisions and proposals, along with an actual movement led by the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, to review the formation of the Coordination Framework, as it represents the safety valve for the political process, and its paths must be clear.”
He added that “the next phase is one of important decisions, through which we will strive to guarantee the rights of political blocs and currents and restore order,” stressing that “the State of Law Coalition is an important and vital part of the political process, and will work to form a strong alliance that ensures the process proceeds in the right direction, fulfills the announced promises, and prevents any attempt to circumvent them.”
He noted that “what happened during the vote on al-Zaidi’s government raises many questions,” indicating that “the next phase will witness the issuance of important decisions after consultations with the other political forces and movements.”
