A statement from the Authority said that “the Border Ports Authority Council held its third session for the year 2026, chaired by Lieutenant General Omar Adnan Al-Waili and attended by most of the members, where the Council discussed the agenda, which included a number of topics aimed at enhancing the efficiency of work at the border ports and organizing procedures in accordance with legal contexts.”
He explained that “after discussion, the council reached a number of decisions, most notably:
1- Granting the Arab and International Police Directorate (Interpol) an interface in the Skoda system in order to inspect vehicles imported into the country to ensure the soundness of their legal status and that they are not wanted.
2- Approval of the request of the Ministry of Health and Wasit Governorate to include the Arar and Zurbatiyah border crossings among the crossings covered for the entry of medicines and medical supplies.
3- Approval of the request of the National Nuclear, Radiological, Chemical and Biological Regulatory Authority regarding the inclusion of all small cargo trucks loaded with (imported) goods in the radiation inspection procedures coming through federal customs checkpoints and offices to ensure the protection of the Iraqi consumer through the entry of radiation-free goods.

5- Directing all border crossings to provide all support and facilities to members of the Border Crossing Authority Council during their visits and inspections of the crossings.
6- Approaching the Ministry of Finance to release the provinces’ entitlements from the revenues generated at the border crossings to enable them to begin completing the development and rehabilitation work for the border crossings.
7- Emphasizing the completion of the requirements for opening the Rabia border crossing in Nineveh Governorate and the Al-Walid border crossing in Anbar Governorate in the next few days, and the presence of all employees of the working departments in order to benefit from these border crossings in trade exchange and transit operations and the entry of travelers, which serves the people of the governorate in particular and the people of our generous nation in general, which will positively reflect on increasing non-oil revenues.
8- The book of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, which included many observations regarding the work of the operating departments, was presented and discussed at length and circulated to all relevant authorities and agencies to address them.
