The Ministry of Transport announced on Sunday the statistics of the number of ships docked at its ports during the current month of March, while confirming the continuation of receiving ships. The spokesman for the Ministry, Maitham Al-Safi, told the official agency that “the maritime agencies in the General Company for Maritime Transport received a number of ships during the current month, and the loading and unloading operations were managed by the General Company for Iraqi Ports, in line with international standards to promote maritime trade.”
They also explained, “Iraqi ports received the ship SJ BOSS with a cargo of (50) containers and bagged goods, coming from the Emirates, and with the nationality of Panama, while the ship SSF VALENCE docked at berth (27) with a cargo of (957) containers, coming from the Emirates, and with the nationality of (ST. VINCENT),” and he continued, “Iraqi ports witnessed the docking of the ship SEA PEARL at berth (11) trip (0526), as well as the ship OCEAN PEARL, the ship QUEEN BAY, the ship OBE HEART, and the ship G FORCE, while the port of Abu Flous received the ship Shahryar.”
He also pointed out that “Berth No. (1) in the southern port of Umm Qasr received the OCEAN PEARL loaded with wheat, while berth No. (2) received the QUEEN BAY loaded with sugar and wheat, while berth No. (4) received the ship G FORCE loaded with corn, while berth No. (7) was docked with the ship OBE HEART loaded with wheat,” and he continued that “the entry of these ships enhances the movement of Iraqi maritime trade,” noting that “Iraq continues to receive ships despite the regional and international tensions that are sweeping the region.”
