The Judicial Council responds to criticism of Trump’s arrest warrant

(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The Supreme Judicial Council responded, on Thursday, to the criticisms leveled after the announcement of the issuance of an arrest warrant for US President Donald Trump.
The Judicial Media stated in a brief statement, a copy of which Al Furat News received, that “The judge supervising the media center of the Supreme Judicial Council, Haider Ali Nuri, responded to what some of the tweets published criticizing the judiciary due to the issuance of an arrest warrant against the American president, saying: (Peace be upon him) Peace be upon him. ”
The Rusafa Investigation Court in Baghdad issued, on Thursday, an arrest warrant against the outgoing US President Donald Trump.
A statement by the judicial media stated that the Al-Furat News Agency received a copy of it, “after the competent judge in the court who is in charge of the investigation into the murder of the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, the martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and his companions, recorded the statements of the claimants of personal right from his family members on the morning of January 7. 2021 and the preliminary investigation procedures are completed. He decided to issue an arrest warrant against the outgoing President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, in accordance with the provisions of Article 406 of the Iraqi Penal Code in force.
The statement added, “Investigation procedures will continue to find out other participants in the execution of this crime, whether they are Iraqis or foreigners.”
