The head of the Department of Relations and Media at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Miqdad Miri, announced that legal measures have been taken against approximately 8,000 officers, affiliates, and civilian employees since the beginning of this year until today, Sunday, for violating applicable laws and instructions.
Miri explained in an official statement that the violations and crimes ranged from bribery, exploitation and negligence of duty, embezzlement, theft, impersonation, waste of public funds, fraud, smuggling, extortion, and leaking of documents, in addition to the arrest of fixers and other violations.
The ministry stressed in the statement that combating corruption begins from within the institution itself, emphasizing that it will not tolerate anyone who abuses public office or exploits their position, regardless of their rank or status, and that the law will be applied to everyone without exception.
