The Kurdish delegation that arrived in Baghdad announced reaching agreements on the outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil.
The media office of the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources in the region’s government said in a statement carried by the official agency today, Sunday, that a high-level delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government visited the capital Baghdad, headed by Beckard Talabani, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources in the region’s government, and the membership of Khalid Shawani, Minister of the Region for Overseas Territories. .

He added that the Kurdish delegation held a meeting with the Federal Minister of Finance Fuad Hussein , and focused on the exchange of financial dues to the peasants of the region, stressing that the delegation will also meet with President of the Republic , Barham Salih , to resolve outstanding issues. ”

He clarified that the goals of the delegation’s visit to find a solution to pay the financial dues for farmers that have not been disbursed since the beginning of last year and to solve agricultural problems between Baghdad and Erbil.

The media office pointed out that the Kurdish delegation held a meeting with the federal ministers of agriculture and water resources, through which an agreement was reached to form a higher coordination committee between Erbil and Baghdad to review and study the problems between the two parties and ways to address them, indicating that the meeting discussed the problems of water and irrigation, water resources, dam construction and restoration, as well as debts that Iraq obtains it from international agreements on agriculture and desertification control.

Earlier, a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government arrived in the capital Baghdad to discuss a number of topics, including the status of dams and farmers’ dues in the region.
