Member of Parliament Amer Hussein confirmed on Wednesday that former Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi has no chance of returning to the political scene, pointing to the lack of harmony between him and other parties in the political process.
Hussein told Al-Maalouma, “Despite al-Kadhimi’s return to Iraq, his return to the political scene remains unclear, as there is no confirmation of his re-entry into the political process.”
He added, “There is no harmony between al-Kadhimi and the political blocs, and this figure lacks a strong popular base that would encourage him to compete and re-enter the political scene.”
He explained that “Al-Kadhimi has no chance of returning to the political scene, especially given the lack of harmony with other parties and the lack of support from the blocs participating in the political scene. Ultimately, his chances of returning to the political arena are slim.”
