Former MP Yasser al-Husseini predicted that Ali al-Zaidi’s government would be quickly approved after he was tasked by the President of the Republic with forming the cabinet, while warning of some obstacles that the incoming government would face.
Al-Husseini told Al-Maalouma, “The cabinet of the designated Prime Minister, Ali al-Zaidi, is expected to be approved quickly because it was formed through consensus after most political blocs agreed to nominate al-Zaidi and task him with forming the new government.”
He added, “Al-Zaidi’s new government will face some obstacles, and the greatest concern lies in its performance, due to the dire economic crises that could hinder the incoming government.”
He explained, “Everyone hopes that al-Zaidi’s new government will overcome the economic crises, which may be the biggest obstacle in the coming period, due to the challenges facing Iraq that could negatively impact the country’s economic situation.”
