Karim told Al-Maalouma that “the KDP has nominated Reber Ahmed for the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Ribas Hamlan for the position of Minister of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities. It will also support a candidate from the Sabean-Christian bloc for the position of Minister of Migration and Displacement.”
He added that “the Kurdish delegation is making continuous visits to Baghdad to reach understandings on a number of issues related to the cabinet, ministerial positions, and the 2027 federal budget.”
He explained that “the Kurdish delegation has not yet approved the draft budget that was discussed. There will be further discussions within the Council of Ministers, after which it will be sent to the Council of Representatives for finalization before being voted on and enacted.”
