On Saturday, Uday Abdul-Hadi, a member of the Coordination Framework, confirmed that three essential criteria must be met by candidates for the security ministries in Ali al-Zaidi’s government.
Speaking to Al-Maalouma, Abdul-Hadi stated that “the various factions within the Coordination Framework agree on the importance of finalizing the remaining ministerial appointments in al-Zaidi’s government after the Eid al-Adha holiday.” He emphasized that “this finalization requires three key criteria for candidates for the security ministries.”
He explained that “the first criterion is security competence and experience in managing institutions of such importance, sensitivity, and complexity.” He further clarified that “the second criterion is that the candidate must not have a political affiliation or be part of any political entity; in other words, they must be completely independent.”
He added that “the third point relates to the candidate’s background; they must not have been convicted of any felony, nor be involved in any legal cases or suspicions.” He pointed out that “there is a clear commitment to ensuring the independence of the security ministries and entrusting their management to professional experts capable of advancing their programs and initiatives to enhance internal security and stability.”
