Member of the Coordination Framework, Uday Abdul-Hadi, confirmed on Saturday that the Framework’s forces will hold an important meeting this week to finalize the remaining ministerial portfolios in Ali al-Zaidi’s government.
Abdul-Hadi told Al-Maalouma, “The Coordination Framework forces will hold an important meeting of their leaders this week to reach a comprehensive agreement that will facilitate the nomination of candidates for the nine ministerial portfolios that remained unresolved during the parliamentary session held months ago due to differing visions and disagreements among the political forces.”
He added, “The meeting will focus on the necessity of finalizing the nominations for the nine portfolios, including the security ministries, in order to complete the government formation, given the importance of this matter.”
He pointed out that “all political forces agree on the need to expedite the completion of the government formation, because the continued management of ministries by acting ministers puts pressure on the work of institutions.” He noted that the meeting will discuss overcoming the disagreements and setting a date for an important parliamentary session to vote on the remaining ministerial portfolios.
