Saif al-Mansouri, a member of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, revealed on Thursday that the technical committee within the coordination framework has approved the final mechanisms for distributing ministerial portfolios, emphasizing the adoption of the points system and electoral entitlement as the sole basis for government formation.
Al-Mansouri told the Information Agency that “the technical committee has made a number of decisive decisions, most notably relying exclusively on the results of the Independent High Electoral Commission in determining the quotas for political blocs and forces, while activating the points system to ensure fairness in distribution.”
He added that “the new mechanism stipulates that only the signature of the head of the bloc is required for submitting candidates, and that the transfer of deputies between blocs or their individual signatures are not considered,” explaining that “this measure aims to regulate the political landscape and prevent fragmentation of positions.”
Al-Mansouri pointed out that “this step represents tangible progress towards forming a balanced and strong government, free from the political complexities that hindered previous stages,” noting that “the primary goal is to create a cabinet capable of meeting citizens’ service and economic aspirations.”
