The coordinating framework decided on Monday to proceed with naming the remaining ministers to complete the formation of the government.
A statement from the framework said that “the coordination framework held its periodic meeting in the office of Dr. Haider al-Abadi, and discussed a number of priority political and legislative files.”
He added that “those gathered discussed the Popular Mobilization Forces Law and the importance of completing its legislation in a way that regulates the work of the Authority and strengthens its role within state institutions, in addition to discussing a number of basic laws, most notably the Oil and Gas Law, the Federal Court Law, and the Federal Council Law, in a way that contributes to completing the constitutional and institutional structure of the state.”
The statement noted that “in the government formation file, the framework followed up on the ongoing dialogues, stressed the need to resolve the issue, and decided to proceed with naming the remaining ministers to complete the formation of the government and enable it to perform its duties.”
He continued, “The meeting also discussed organizing the internal work of the coordination framework, and emphasized the need to develop regulations and rules that govern the mechanisms of work and decision-making in a way that enhances institutionalization and unity of position.”
