Member of Parliament Mukhtar al-Moussawi revealed today, Monday, that an agreement has been reached within the Coordination Framework to nominate Ali al-Zidi for the position of Prime Minister of the new government.
Al-Moussawi told the Information Agency that “there is an agreement to nominate Ali al-Zidi for Prime Minister,” explaining that “al-Zidi’s name has been put forward as a compromise candidate and he may gain the confidence of the Coordination Framework to head the new government.”
It is worth noting that consultations within the Coordination Framework are ongoing to finalize the Prime Minister candidate in the coming period, and the outlines of a final agreement are expected to become clearer as political dialogues progress among the relevant parties.
