Shafaq News/ The Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq revealed today, Tuesday, the deadline for announcing the final results of the early parliamentary elections.
Imad Jamil, a member of the media team of the commission, told Shafaq News Agency, “After 17 days, the final results of the early parliamentary elections will be announced, after all the appeals submitted have been resolved.”
Jamil indicated that “today was the last date for submitting appeals from candidates and political entities,” explaining that “we have so far received 1,300 appeals against the results of the parliamentary elections.”
He pointed out that “all the appeals submitted do not prove the existence of fraud within the electoral stations,” noting that “these will be considered by the competent committees.”
Last Saturday, the Independent High Electoral Commission published the full results of the early parliamentary elections that took place on Sunday, the tenth of October.
The head of the commission’s board of commissioners, Adnan Jalil Khalaf, said in a press conference broadcast on state television, that the commission had completed the audit of the 3,681 quarantined stations.
He added that the results of the quarantined stations were added to the previously announced preliminary results, noting that the full results were published on the Commission’s website.
Khalaf pointed out that these results are preliminary and can be challenged.
He said that the commission was not affected by any political conflict, adding, “We are committed to standing at the same distance from all political forces.”
