Sources close to the Al-Azm Alliance revealed on Friday the possibility of holding an important meeting within the next 24 hours to discuss the results of the vote on Ali Al-Zidi’s government, and the existence of an agenda to directly marginalize the alliance’s entitlement.
The sources told Al-Maalomah that “the Azm Alliance and its leaders are preparing to hold a very important meeting that includes all the leaders of the alliance in the governorates, in order to study the results of the vote session on Ali Al-Zidi’s government, and the pressures that accompanied it, which were exerted by Sunni parties towards marginalizing the alliance’s entitlement, and ultimately preventing it from participating in the government.”
She added that “the Al-Azm Alliance has several important options, especially since it has cards that can form a path to change the scene in a number of governorates, in addition to its partnership with other political forces.”
She pointed out that “what happened in yesterday’s session violated all previous agreements and was an attempt to circumvent the rights of a segment that represents an important part of the Sunni community and has its own constituency,” indicating that “the evidence suggests an agenda to exclude the alliance.”
The sources confirmed that “the coming hours may witness the presentation of a number of options to the public regarding the alliance’s next steps.”
